Not a good day :o(

Hello to anyone who cares to read my blog. I don't get to write much at the moment, still as busy as ever with the kids health issues, plus my own.

I have done something to my lower back, it's been achy for a while and just the last couple of days, has been almost unbearable. Hurts which ever way I move.

The kids have been a bit bored these holidays. We had to stay home this morning, as the girl's from Disability Services came to visit Jared. They visit every couple of weeks for his therapy and to work on new goals, etc. He turned 3 on the 4th April, but developmentally is around 2 years. Jared has a combination of Williams Syndrome and Bilateral Peri-Ventricular Nodular Heterotopia. It is so rare, that there is only one other known boy with it, in Brazil apparently!

Jared is a gorgeous little boy, he can be very affectionate at times, but always a very social little boy. Many people who are lucky enough to meet him, just love his beautiful nature.

Anyway, the girl's were really happy with the progress he's made in the last couple of weeks. We are currently working on his gait. (walking style) Jared is unable to straighten his knees, due to poor muscle tone, and this affects the way he walks. He constantly trips over or stumbles, poor kid, but with lots of Physio and exercises, he'll slowly get there.

I've just posted another message on the Holmes Families blog, they are such a brave family, and I can't help but feel so sad for what they are going through with their beautiful daughter, Imogen. She is really gorgeous, and sadly, won't be with us for much longer, due to the terrible childhood cancer, Neuroblastoma. It is such a wicked, cruel, shit disease and I can't help but shed tears of sadness every day, as we wait for Immie to be free of her pain, and go to Heaven.

I'd better shut down my computer now, it's after midnight, and I'm soooo tired. I actually fell asleep in the bath. Atleast it wasn't whilst I was driving, for a change. God help me, one of these day's, I may not return home. It scares me, so I'm off to bed!

Good night, with love and hugs as always,

Nurse Lyndall xxxxxxxxx
